Solar for Boat Docks

Solar Power for your Boat Dock offers reliable power with no electric lines to reel in and out from the shore. You won’t have a monthly bill from the electric company. An additional benefit, is the Corps of Engineer’s utility easement fee is waived since you don’t need to connect to the power company lines.
Dock Solar can be customized to fit your needs. Our systems range in size from a 2k to a 20k, depending on your energy needs of your dock. Many of our components are made here locally in Missouri. All work is done to National Electric Code (NEC) requirements. Battery boxes are diamond plate aluminum, weather tight, vented and have a padlock for safety. Solar panels are mounted on the roof at the correct angle to maximize southern exposure.

Solar Panels
The solar panels are the main component of the system, and are responsible for turning sunlight into electricity. These panels can be placed on your roof, on a ground mount, or on a nearby structure with good exposure to the sun. When the sunlight hits the panels, they start producing electricity.
Electrical Panel
Depending on the configuration of your building, the electricity may then flow into your main electric panel or breaker box. After that, the power can be utilized by your home or business.
Inverters
From the panels, the DC power is transferred to an inverter. Next, the inverter converts DC into AC electricity, which is the most common type of electricity. Inverters can be in the form of a central hub or can be installed on the back of each individual solar panel.
Bi-Directional Meter 
Your utility provider will install a net meter. If your solar system is producing more power than what you’re currently using, Your meter will actually turn backwards, which means you’ll generate credits on the grid.
